Foundation for Scientific and Technological Development

The Foundation for Scientific and Technological Development (FUNDECIT) of the Republic of Angola, created in 2021, is a legal person governed by public law, with the legal status of a Public Institute, classified as a Public Foundation, endowed with legal personality and enjoying autonomy. administrative, financial and patrimonial, which operates in the field of science, technology and innovation.

Mission

The Organic Statute of FUNDECIT (Article 2) defines its mission as:

  • 1. FUNDECIT's mission is to implement science, technology and innovation policies and manage the financial resources of the State Budget for scientific research and development, including those resulting from the mobilization or capture of extra-OGE resources for financing, more effectively, of scientific research and development activities.
  • 2. FUNDECIT's mission is also to carry out the assessment and accreditation of institutions dedicated to scientific research and technological development in the country, affiliated to the National Science, Technology and Innovation System (SNCTI).

FUNDECIT aspires to consolidate itself in the next five years as a relevant national actor and a recognized international partner in the field of science, technology and innovation, contributing to the increase, quality and socio-economic impact of national scientific production, within the framework of the respective policies. public.
